The Adult Mission Team, Disciples on Call, assist low income families whose homes need renovation as a result of poor economic conditions or natural disasters.   Our partner Disaster Recovery Group provides housing for the volunteers on the mission trip as well as materials needed to repair and rebuild houses.

Each fall, our adults participate in a weeklong trip. Please contact Bob Robertson if would like to serve on the adult mission trip.

Appalachian Service Project (ASP)

Mission Trip:  June 22 – 29, 2019

Appalachia Service Project is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in the most impoverished regions of Central Appalachia. ASP is an one week immersive service experience. Days filled with prayer, work, fellowship, and praise offer the chance to build new friendships with each other, the families you work with and God.

Each summer, the youth at HUMC and adult leaders attend ASP for a week.  If you would like to participate in this mission trip, please contact Mike and Debbie Cox.

Food for the Hungry
Mission Trip: Jan – Feb 2020

In 2017, we partnered with Food for the Hungry.  We are walking alongside our partner community in Alemania Federal, Nicaragua, as they work towards sustainability, lifting themselves out of poverty.  Sponsor a child and/or join us as we travel to their community on a mission trip.  If you are interested on sponsoring a child or our mission trip to Nicaragua, please contact  Soraya Smith.
