HUMC TRUSTEES

    Those desiring to use the HUMC Facilities are requested to complete the following application  and either copy and e-mail it or print it out and take it to the Office Manager.  The Trustees will review the application and be in contact with the requesting person.

Donations to HUMC are accepted for use of the facilities by groups or organizations that are not part of the church.

HUMC Acceptable Use Policy August 2008
 
Groups are expected to clean up after themselves and leave the space as they found it. The responsible person will insure that a complete clean-up is effected prior to departure from the church facilities at the conclusion of each meeting or activity.
  • This includes picking up all trash, sweeping the floors, replacing tables and chairs in positions as found when entering the facility (this means to take tables down that are used or put them back up the way they were found), proper storage of bottles, supplies, etc., and removal of all trash. For church groups this means all garbage bags must be taken to the dumpster. For visiting groups/organizationsthis means all garbage bags must be removed from the church and taken with you. Please do not use the church dumpster.
  • Be sure to return dumpster key to proper place
  • The responsible adult will insure that heating/cooling settings are returned to their original state, lights are turned off, and facilities are locked at the conclusion of the meeting or activity.
  • There will be no smoking in the building.
  • Alcoholic beverages and/or illicit drugs will not be allowed at any time on church property.
  • Unchristian-like behavior will not be allowed. Please refrain from running all over the building.
  • Food and beverages are allowed only as approved, and never in the Sanctuary.
  • Use of facilities does not include use of kitchen facilities or use of food, drinks and supplies such as plates, cups, napkins, etc. found in the kitchen, unless specifically stated in church approval of sponsorship. If kitchen isused,(approved) clean-up is required. This includes the stove and other appliances used.
  • Any spills must be cleaned up immediately.
  • Any damage to the buildings or other facilities must be reported to the church office as soon as possible, but not later than the close of business the next regularly scheduled church office business day.
  • Responsible, proactive, adult supervision is required for each meeting or activity.
  • No climbing or tampering with church property, buildings, outdoor equipment, fire escapes, trees/shrubbery, gardens, or tombstones.
  • Cemetery flowers and ornaments shall be removed from the site by the supplying parties as soon as they are aesthetically deteriorated. 
  • Usage of the building for ALL non-previously approve events/meetings or activities must be approved by the church trustees – see the church office to obtain an event/activity application form.
  • No tacks, nails, tape, or other materials which may permanently deface the buildings or furnishings may be used in decorating. When decorating for parties, make sure you remove decorations immediately following the event, unless otherwise approved by church.
  • The church office & office equipment is to be used for church business only.
  • Use of church musical equipment or AV equipment is not permitted unless operated by the HUMC personnel and approved in advance by the Trustees in coordination with the Music or AV Ministries.
  • Please limit storage to designated area only. Respect the storage & work space of other groups.

 REMINDER: You are in a church, a House of God.
That means treat it and the people in it with respect, responsibility and love.
